1. Run and Observe
  2. Use the browser UI

The browser UI is a local client for the operator. It discovers available workflows, starts and cancels runs, and retrieves run status and details from the configured operator.

Start the complete local loop

uv run ava dev --flows ./flows

This starts an operator and a connected browser UI. The UI listens on http://127.0.0.1:7435 by default.

Connect to an existing operator

Start the UI separately when the operator already runs elsewhere on your local machine:

uv run ava web --connect localhost:7433

Change the browser listen address or port when needed:

uv run ava web --connect localhost:7433 --host 127.0.0.1 --port 7435

The browser UI uses a loopback HTTP listener and a gRPC-Web proxy to the native gRPC operator. It does not receive a direct Python channel to user workflow code.

Use it as a workflow surface

Use the UI to select a discovered workflow, provide supported run input, start a run, cancel a running workflow, and inspect the operator-provided workflow/run state. The UI fetches detailed logs, agent events, traces, and output artifacts on demand for the selected run rather than eagerly loading all detail.

For scripts and automation, use the CLI. For a terminal client, use the TUI and webhooks guide.

The HTTP listener defaults to loopback. Non-loopback exposure requires --trusted-proxy, but Avalanche does not supply authentication or multi-tenant security for that exposure.
